Mega tune and 4 bar sensor

Post by Kirby »

Hey guy's just got a new ms1v3 with the 4 bar sensor. I configured MT to the 4 bar in the settings.ini. When I connect to the ms the map was fluctuating wildlybetween 25 and 100 kpa. It has now stableized butit lists kpa at 5-7. In the real time tuning it lists the correct map, but since megatune is reading it at 7 I think it's screwing everything up.... any ideas

What numbers did you put into megatune to calibrate the sensor? I'm using Jerry's MAPDaddy 4bar sensors and from memory the figures are 3.5/416.5.

It's the standerd mpx 4 bar sensor that is reccomended for use... I have MT config showing it active in the settings file so it should be in the ini as well. Should I have to calibrate it? Now it is fluctuating and dancing around with the key on but not the car.. At my elivation it should read around 100 kpa, but it jumps around inthe 60's and 70's...

You need to edit your settings.ini file in your project/mtCfg folder.

It should look like this:
#group MAP_SENSOR "MS-I Map Sensor Type"
#unset MPX4115 "MPX4115 - 115 kPa, Usually only on v1.01 boards"
#unset MPX4250 "MPX4250 - 250 kPa, Default MAP sensor since v2.2 hardware"
;obsolete GM300KPa "GM 3.0 BAR - 300 kPa"
; Incorrect info from http://www.aquamist.co.uk/sl/plist/pics/mapm/mapm.html
; Correct info from http://www.not2fast.com/electronics/com ... 223861.pdf
; Use MPXH6300A instead of GM300KPa, they have identical specifications.
#unset MPXH6300A "MPXH6300 - 300 kPa" ; http://www.freescale.com/files/sensors/ ... H6300A.pdf
# set MPXH6400A "MPXH6400 - 400 kPa" ; http://www.freescale.com/files/sensors/ ... H6400A.pdf
#endgroup
Note where everything is "unset" except the MPXH6400A sensor.

Once this is done then go into the Constants page in Megatune (2.25 final) and choose the 400kpa map sensor.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I have the settings correct but I think at some point I had corrupted my MT files. I now have it reading map...
