FTDI USB to Serial converter cable

I'm a sucker for minimalist equipment, and even though I recently purchased a USB to RS232 converter from the DIYAutoTune guys (and it works great) when I ran across this integrated chip set and cable unit, I just about fell out of my chair. Nice little package, if it works.

Re: how many missing teeth?

Thanks Al. That's what I'll do.

If anyone's looking for ideas for a speed sensor, I'll be using an ABS sensor from a failed front bearing assembly, 2000 Silverado C1500 Chevy truck. Nice and small, and works well (at least during my bench test).

how many missing teeth?

Just wondering if I should do 1 or 2 missing teeth? Engine is a single cylinder 4-stroke. It is a kickstart machine. 320 cc. Was planning on a crank triggered 30-1. Was going to set it up as a 2-stroke, so I don't need a cam trigger. Wasted spark is ok. Am using LS2 coil.

360-1 trigger on a single cylinder

Can uS read a 360-1 wheel? Am having problems with this. It is a GM LT1 Opt-spark wheel. It has 360 shutter windows. I cut one slot out to make it 360-1.

Problem is, I get a config error (Number of teeth/cylinders conflict) when powering up uS.

Setup is:
>Engine Constants > # of Cylinders=1 ...
