Dizzy and Vaccum

Post by darrens »

Hi,

Do I understand it correctly that if retaining the distributor then the vaccum needs to be disabled. I have a points dizzy, with the points taken out and replaced with one of the Aldon Ignitor units and using the low tension coil side (i,e from Aldon ignitor) for tach signal

I will be upgrading to spark control at a later date but one step at a time.

MS II V3 on Rover V8

If you are not controlling spark with MegaSquirt, you must retain the vacuum advance/retard as your timing is dependent upon this mechanism.

When you change over to MegaSquirt controlling spark, both the Vacuum advance/retard and mechanical advance will need to be disabled.
