Driving 8 injectors

Post by bcarpman »

I am trying to decide between MicroSquirt and MegaSquirt. The application is a boat, and obviously the added robustness of the Microsquirt appeals to me. However it is a V8 and pretty high HP. Dynamic range of the injectors may be an issue. I am wondering if the injector driver section of the MicroSquirt is really made for 8 injectors or is it marginal for that use. I don't want to be blowing injector drivers, or having issues with slow on-off times.

Thanks

If the injectors are high impedance (12 ohms or thereabouts) then driving 4 injectors per bank works fine. I have exactly this arrangement with a SBC and never an issue at all.

Low impedance injectors will require resistors.
