MAP SENSOR configuration???

Post by garrett »

having problems getting a reading from the MAP sensor. when the engine is cranked we are not getting a reading from the MAP sensor. i read in the program that we had to tell microsquirt what type of map sensor we are using but i don't know how to do this.

MAP sensor we have #16009886 which we got off the hardware page. it is a GM 2 bar. The configurator doesn't show this type of part # so how do you know which option to use?

Any ideas?????

In Megatune, if you go to Tools\Sensor Calibration, you can calibrate for a custom MAP sensor. Unless someone already has specs on a GM 2 bar, though, it may be much easier to just order an MPX4250 and use that instead.

Update: after a minute or two of Googling, I found the needed information for your calibration here: http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/mapsensor.htm and for the electrical hookup here: http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/component_ ... nsors.html.

By the way, you can quickly test your MAP sensor setup by simply hooking up Megatune, hooking up an extra piece of vaccum line to the MAP sensor, and blowing in it. If you're getting a signal, then the MAP reading in Megatune should rise. Of course, assuming things are calibrated correctly, you should also be seeing somewhere in the 70 - 100 kPa range before you blow in the tube.
