MS2 Coil Control

I have yet to wire my car, but I am going today to buy a new coil and stuff for the car.

Does MSII just ground the coil at the appropriate time? If I am reading correctly, it get a switched 12v and then the pin__ grounds the coil for a correct fire.

I have looked through the manual, and also through megatune. There is a window devoted to igniton, and if I set it on ""standard coil charge" and play with the rest, I should have a car with computer-controled ignition, right?

I have an 82 volvo 242 if it matters guys. Thanks.

mrbill,

Yes on all counts. MegaSquirt grounds the coil through the VB921, so it can control the timing (assuming you have a distributor to route the spark to the correct cylinder at the correct time).
