Very difficult starting! Please help

Post by amd is the best »

The car is extremly hard to start and I have no idea where to begin when it comes to the cranking enrichments as well as the afterstart enrichments. It doesn't like to start hot or cold. I am runing MSnS-Extra code 029l on a v2.2. The car is an 90' Ford Probe GT (turbo, 550cc injectors) Thanks, Nick

amd is the best,

I would normally expect the -40°F cranking pulse width to be about 88% of your "upper" req_fuel value, and the 170°F cranking pulse width to be about 23% of your req_fuel. Then move these up or down together as required, following the instructions in the manual:
For the afterstart enrichments, start with about 30 to 35% for 200 to 250 cycles. Adjust it as decribed here: http://www.megasquirt.info/v22manual/mtune.htm#csenrich

Lance.

Thank you for your reply. It seems like I have found somthing else wrong. It seems like it only sparks when it wants to. I have checked all the connections and all seem good. I pulled the plugs and cranked it over and sometimes they will fire perfect and somtimes they won't fire at all. I orded a new vb921 because is looked like mine was cracked in the back. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I am attaching a log of my attempts and my msq file to see if anyone can see anything that may be wrong. Thanks, Nick
