MS1: 2Q's - TPS or MapDOT? and V3.0 Dist Ign Driver
1.)
I know I can use both and I am not looking for easier per say. Wondering which is better for a Supercharged Engine. I am talking throttle response, acceleration, daily driving etc.
I am thinking that MapDot is probably better due to large boost changes with fairly small throttle response, but I would like to hear if anyone has used both and can offer suggestions. Folks responded in the vortex that TPS is always better for speed Density unless you are using a waaay large Throttle Body.
2.) Anyone using the onboard distributer Ign Driver on the V3.0 board as opposed to an ign module for dwell needed for a v2- board? Just curious if there are any pitfalls to look out for. Specifically going on a DigiI VW Bosch Ign sys.
I am sure these are only two of an artillery of questions that I will have along the way.
Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Yes, this replaced the yahoo group for public support about two years ago.
1) Either will work fine, an oversized TB might make TPSdot easier to tune.
2) You should be able to elimiinate the igniter in your current system if you use the 3.0, or you could leave it in, either way should work fine.

Excellent. Thanks for the update. I should be ready to fire it up in a week or so.boost junkie wrote:FWIW I just replaced my external ignitor (4 cylinder, waste spark, 2 coils) with VB921 modules on my v2.2 board. Works flawlessly. Also the engine bay is now cleaner and more simple.
