Ok questions about that 2.0 Escort map. Why does it top out at 5000 RPM? Is this a turbo setup?

I think it uses the last fields on the map for any RPM above the indicated... so it would run the timing of the last column up to the actual set redline...bluetrepidation wrote:Ok questions about that 2.0 Escort map. Why does it top out at 5000 RPM? Is this a turbo setup?

Am I right in thinking that anything over the defined RPM map will continue the last timing #MegaScott wrote:N/A.bluetrepidation wrote:Ok questions about that 2.0 Escort map. Why does it top out at 5000 RPM? Is this a turbo setup?

This was my "commuter car" and as such hardly ever go above 4000rpm. I was happy with the power over 5000rpm, the amount of time I spend over 5000rpm is so small (never?) I was not worried about it.
Yes, I believe you are correct in thinking that.Jon k wrote:Am I right in thinking that anything over the defined RPM map will continue the last timing #MegaScott wrote:N/A.bluetrepidation wrote:Ok questions about that 2.0 Escort map. Why does it top out at 5000 RPM? Is this a turbo setup?
