Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark

Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
Chevy TPS, Chevy map, Ford 36/1 wheel and Focus VR 2 wire Trigger. Set @ 9 tooth delay to TDC.
TunerStudios failed to link to this setup. Maybe cable etc. I could not find anyone who would check the RS auto sports MS3 420A, out.
I had sensor voltage out at the proper places and I amprety sure that the MS works but could not get linked to adjust the crank inputs and tune.
Anyway to make things easier and hopefully get running sooner, I called and bought 2 new Micros V3 packages, As I have 3 Race cars that need to run the MS eventually .
I also got the Blue tooth package to avoid the cable crap. I found a cable that works for now tho and that is hooked up and linked .
So; I have 3 ECU that the TS will not self detect. I found a workaround in the port check box and got linked to the Micro, with a good cable..
Question 1? Does the TS page adjust to the controller? I have TS loaded on my home box and it shows different than the lap version that linked @ the shop? Any thoughts as to why the TS wont find the port and detect the controller? It takes a long time @ port 6 ( correct) but passes on. Ihave tried all 3 controllers. 2 Laps with fresh downloaded TS versions. All the same results. No controller found.
Should I try "Megatune" ?
Question 2; Current): setup ; I want to fire the 4 post Dodge coil in waste spark with the 4 pin chevy modules each driven by the spark out wires. I have the output set to going high. Is this correct? data shows it should be. I have some spark..
I have the ground wire- W for the modules grounded at the master ground on the engine and the modules grounded with the screw.
The wheel settings are 0 offset, 18 skip teeth,9 tooth delay, I dont see an spark output option. Does the MS/Micro do this automatically?
Are these settings correct? without going to the dual spark option?
I have spark but at the wrong time and way too many per revolution.
The lap drops link at about the 5th rotation of the engine. Do i need a better laptop?
Dual spark = off
I get an RPM signal at half speed about 102 when it should be 210+-.
If I need the dual spark, what settings change?
According to the data and pages of info, the dual spark should have the same outputs as the way I have it now.
Thanks for any help . MM

I would not use MegaTune with any current firmware. What happens when you make a new project in TS? What results do you get with Port Check?Mogren wrote: So; I have 3 ECU that the TS will not self detect. I found a workaround in the port check box and got linked to the Micro, with a good cable..

If you are using a QuadSpark, set spark output to going high.Question 2; Current): setup ; I want to fire the 4 post Dodge coil in waste spark with the 4 pin chevy modules each driven by the spark out wires. Also, can you post a copy of your MSQ?

The hard link cable works today!! I bought a new lap and installed the new Tuner studio. It detected finally..
I have a Micro v3.8 with " auto trigger "setup.
I found a link for info. says that I need to set the trigger offset to the crank wheel teeth lag , in this case. about 90* (9teeht)
So . Offset = 90*
Dual spark on
Second spark = 180*
Does this look right for a 4cyl even fire , waste spark VW?
It skips and pops and acts like too much advance. It is 12/1 compression and will need to start around 4-6 degrees lead . I assume that I can set that someplace.
Thanks a ton. MM

Re: Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
The wheel is/was, a 36/1 ford style , with Ford VR sender.
I got the car running by going to the stock VW stand alone ignition. I had a lot of tuning issues and finally the ECU failed and shorted one side of the injector drivers. Flooding the engine in 2 cyl and possibly ruining a piston or two.
Any way. checked all of the injectors ohm, @ 15-16. Should be fine. Sent the ECU back and swapped in the spare, ran pretty good but had a tach drive induced skip, starting @ 5200rpm and as it ran dropped to 4000.
Both ECUs did about the same thing within a few rpm.
***** I suspect that i damaged both ECU with the VR signal, Is that common?
Still using the VR trigger,
The car was sitting idling for a few minutes and suddenly shut clean off( Like the key off). . Maybe out of fuel as it has run for about 2hrs at this point, Check the guage but shows some but it should have 110 in it anyway so put in 5 gal
Decided to try triggering the ECU from the coil neg. Hooked the Opt + to coil neg. Opt - to12V per instructions. The RPM signal on crank started @ 225 or so and the ecu fueled a bit and it popped off but immediately quit as the RPm reading went to 60 still @ normal crank speed.
Now the RPM input says 0 on the TS dash . Both ECU do the same.
Did I fry both ECUs?
What are the correct settings for fuel only for the Micro 3? The instructions are weak at best for the initial settings.
Thanks for your time, MM

Re: Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
Unlikely unless you wired it to the ignition coil directly. You'd have to feed that circuit several hundred volts to do any damage.Mogren wrote: ***** I suspect that i damaged both ECU with the VR signal, Is that common?
On B&G code, simply turn off all dual spark or wheel decoder settings. What are the correct settings for fuel only for the Micro 3?
Re: Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
Found this also.
So I need the diode and resistor? on the opt+?
Opt - to ground?
Thanks,MM
Re: Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
ECU tach opto + connects mid stream downside of the LED. Opt _ is grounded ..
makes no difference if the OPt - is : grounded, open or has 12V. I still get the led flicker.
The LED flashes per spark @ coil. No RPM sig still .
Re: Micro V3 and 4cyl waste spark
Ordered a new ECU. same result, no RPM signal.
Hooked up the green Bosch hall sensor wire to the VR red wire and have an RPM signal. But no Fuel injector grounding. The requested PWM is about 8ms but the noid light never flickers on crank but has one light as the engine stops turning. .
All power and all circuits have pinned out good, the injector test poored fuel and wont re set to normal mode. now wont link of course.
Not happy. i am sure that I have a setting wrong someplace as 2 ECU do the same thing. After running for 2hrs.
