Microsquirt v3 no rpm

Post by l_jonez »

I recently decided to convert my Nissan cg13 engine to efi and microsquirt seemed ideal for what I want.
The car used to run carbs and megajolt so over a few weeks I've been doing little bits ready for the change over.
Yesterday was the big day so the car was put in the garage and everything required was swapped over. As it was already running megajolt the edis etc was already in place so it was just a case of connecting up the pip and saw wires. I wired it up as per the manual
Ampseal pin #12 to the SAW pin (#3) on the ignition module
Ampseal OPTOIN+ pin #30 to the PIP pin (#1) on the ignition module
Ampseal OPTOIN- pin #31 to the same ground location as the EDIS module (pin #9 or pin #10 depending on the module used).

When I crank the engine over I get no rpm shown on the ms.

I'm hoping its just a setting that I've missed somewhere.

I've changed the skip pulses to 3 as i read a few people had a problem with it being 1. Obviously I know the edis is ok as its run the engine for the last 10 years and was driven into the garage yesterday and if I plug the coil pack in I get a spark at the plugs.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

L Jones

Just an update, checked the pip wire and I'm getting 3-4v and around 10hz when cranking over.

Sorted :D

For some reason the dual spark options were set to 'Falling Cam Sync with Tach or Wheel', its not something I've set but it teaches me to look at all settings several times :RTFM:
