Fuel pump relay Cycling - V3 Microsquirt

Post by NickNZ »

Hi Guys, this is to replace previous post in which I mistakenly called my processor an MS3 and therefore got hoofed off to another message board.

I have run through all the installation info I can find; added a 47uF capacitor between Vref and sensor ground; checked all wiring; checked grounding; reloaded code; have no comms problems but TunerStudio can't keep connected with the controller cycling off and on every one second. It does this any time it is powered up except when the bootloader wire is grounded, whether connected to the laptop or not, whether sensors etc. are connected or not. Are there any other things I can try, or could I have a bung Microsquirt?

Cheers

Hi Matt, thanks for getting in touch. Downloaded and installed v 3.780, I bought the Microsquirt end of last November and I think it originally had something like v 3.770 on it. Was wondering about trying to locate the older version and putting that back on, and seeing if it would work.

Mind you, I have just noticed a note regarding setting ECU type - I am sure I did this, but the symptoms I have do seem to fit incorrect ECU choice so I will check this out tonight. Would be great if I have simply selected the wrong one! Just thinking, though, wouldn't this only affect the ECU when connected to TunerStudio? It also shows the symptoms when not connected - just powered up with nothing connected.

Pretty amazing. Started from scratch with new download of code, plus new .ini. TunerStudio then worked fine, gave the warning until I selected the ECU type, then everything settled down and I was able to do some setup stuff. I don't know what I did wrong the first time, must have corrupted the code somehow, but now all is rosy.

Cheers
