Re: converting my banshee to efi
You might want to post a datalog of a starting attempt. This will let us see what is going on. The fuel pump should be on whenever there is a tach signal, so if you are only getting a prime from the fuel and it stays off after that, then you probably have an issue with the tach input. A datalog will confirm this.
Lance.

I agree with Lance, you're not getting a Tach signal to the Microsquirt (or more specifically, not getting it a Tach signal it can recognize). The fuel pump should be on whenever there is a tach signal, so if you are only getting a prime from the fuel and it stays off after that, then you probably have an issue with the tach input. A datalog will confirm this.
If your Banshee uses Inductive ignition coils (not Capacitor Discharge ignition) here's a link to a very effective, simple, tested and functional direct coil-sensed Tach input circuit. Shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to wire it up so it would be an easy test/fix for your fuel-only application. I've been using it for several thousand miles now in my Kawasaki Ninja EX-250 fuel-only project bike. Remember, this circuit will not work with a Capacitor Discharge ignition system
Here's a link to a thread with the circuit diagram and explaination: http://www.microsquirt.com/viewtopic.ph ... 86#p151772
The circuit was originally thought up and drawn by forum member Matt_GSXR for use in the fuel-only phase of his development of a GSX-R1000 engine in his Phoenix race car. As drawn in the linked thread it is set up for a 4 cylinder, wasted spark, inductive ignition engine. But as you can tell from the discussion in the linked thread it can easily be modified for a 2 cylinder wasted spark or 1 cylinder engine.

He used a GM HEI module for his project's ignition. He explains it in his website's sub-heading of "installation".

Re: converting my banshee to efi
And you're saying that the RZ-350 installation website didn't shed any new light on your HEI module problems? No subtle differences in his install vs. the way you tried it?

Re: converting my banshee to efi
I might be wrong but I think inductive coils are hooked up to a 12 volt source and are triggered by a ground contact through the ignition system while in a CDI system the energy for the ignition coil to fire comes from the ignition system.
