display problems + blue screen of death.

Post by classic-indy »

When I run the machine I randomly get the blue screen of death. I'm running Windows 7, 1.66ghz processor and 1 Mb RAM. Any thoughts?

Also in Ve analyze live I can only see 2 filters without the option of scrolling. And I can only see half of those two filter tabs. for min and max rpm. I've briefly tried to alter the computer visuals without luck.

There is only 1 known cause of the BSOD for TunerStudio.
USB to serial cables based on the Prolific chipset. Prolific had a nasty bug in their driver for quite a long time, that i believe they have finally fixed. There is more in the faq on my site about how to fix it.
I still always recommend FTDI based cables.

What resolution are you running?
You should be able to see everything on as little as 600 pixels high, but you need to mind what look & feel you are using and will likely need to hide the live graph at the bottom.
The newer betas have quick hide options for the graph.

resolution is 1024x600. I believe I'm using a prolific usb to serial cable, but I'm not at home because of work for the next few days. I will start reading for usb to serial solutions.
