Mustang ignition problem

Post by coop43 »

Hey guys,

having alot of trouble getting the car the run.. it will sputter ocasionally but almost die instantly. I do know the car runs well just took a stock harness out with sct tune also I know there is plenty of gas plugs continue to fawl out, i think it is more of an ignition problem as of now. we have a stock TFI along with a MSD 6a hooked up is this possible or can you only use one or the other i do not believe any resisters where installed in the board either or any other sensors that i know of.. Ive copied similiar build maps identically with no luck its always the same thing i just dosn't sound like its even close

it is a 92 mustang
306
turbo kit
42lb injectors
255 lbh
GM 3 bar

We've ran TFI on a Microsquirt before, and adding an MSD isn't too tough. How exactly is it wired up now?

Wiring seems to check out fine.. took the whole harness apart and quadrouple checked everything.. found the issue however.. took the computer up to advanced electronics and had it checked out and found that there where multiple shorts on the board. they where more then generous to supply us with a new board and now after we get the harness back in the car there is no spark at all  nothing!! this is so frustrating... there was spark with the old board just cuircts fried all over now that everything seems corrected there is no spark at all ?? checked multiple coils and distrubitors to see if anything failed and everything is the same.. tried bypassing the msd box and nothing changed.. I'm starting to pull my hair out here.. i know everything is grounded corectly and nothing changed on the harness from last box when it did have spark even though it was eratic from the shorts.. any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated

I think the EMS Pro is knocking on the door

If you pull the SPOUT connector, do you get spark?

ok fellas,

well fried another box so figured it would be easier to get the pig tail and through the stock harness back in and this did the trick.. now got everything to start up and idle fine but as soon as it goes to 2500 rpms it starts to break up whether its under load or sitting still.. at first it was way lean and we corrected it with the VE table even now at a 14.5 it still breaks up.. going to change plugs out to see if there shot and getting blown out if problem persists i will data log and post for you all to see
thanks for the advice
