No RPM Signal: Hall Effect (MSD W/Briggs)

Post by nibbly05 »

1st time posting so here we go...
Have a 3.5hp briggs running on test bench with the attached code but after rewiring into car no rpm signal:

Had running with the following hall effect sensor: (using only it and no vr or missing tooth wheel)

MSD- Hall Effect : 3wire with 1k resistor tied b/w 12v+ and signal to pin 30 (optin+)...with ground to common...
1 magnet in flywheel with sensor mounted to trigger once every revolution...

Checked with oscilloscope and now getting squarewave of 12volts when triggered...with a rise of 4.0ms..

At a stand still.......and have no clue what changed from test bench to the installation in car. All other sensors seem to be working fine (IAT,CT,MAP, TPS)

It did however show RPM'S that seemed to be double at the time we had it running on the bench but were going to change the RPM bins to compensate as time is running out to make the thing work for competition.

Any help would be much appreciated

have signal again!!! nothing wrong with wiring...or settings (other than setting to 2 cylinder instead of 1 for the double rpm) but somehow the bitrate was changed???? although all sensors where working and it said connected...changed rate and boom..rpm signal back? weird
