Adjustable fuel pressure regulator

Post by dlenardu »

I am getting ready to install my fuel pressure reg. I have a couple of questions before I mount it. 1) Can I tap off of the vacuum line going to the MAP sensor or will that effect the map sensor? 2) Will it hurt to have the fuel pressure reg mounted higher than the injectors? Meaning that after the fuel runs through the last injector it would have to go up to the pressure regulator and then back down. The only reason I'm asking is because I have a real convient spot to mount it right above the last injector.

Thanks

Yes, you can use a tee on the MAP sensor line; we do this pretty often. It won't hurt to put the regulator above the injectors - unless you're putting it several meters above the injectors; that may be trouble. :)

Cool, Thanks Matt,

I'm only mounting it about 4" higher so hopefully that will be ok.

4" of head in gasoline is ~ 0.17psi; with a regulated pressure of 43.5psig, that's a difference of 0.3%.

I think you're good...
