No signal from sensors!

Post by kyler »

Hey guys,

Having a little trouble here- we've had our engine running on microsquirt. Disassembled the engine took it out of the chassis for fabrication purposes. Put it back into the chassis- can't get readings from any of our sensors using the sensor ground. We've confirmed that we've got continuity into the back of the pcb from the gound, we've checked that all of the signal wires are connected properly, and we've checked the function of each of the sensors...

So... I'm beginning to suspect that there is an issue with the microsquirt, and I'm wondering what happens if the vref is grounded out... We've been very careful, but it's always a possibility...

Is there anything else that we should check if the sensor ground circuit doesn't seem to be working?

Thanks

Kyle

If the VREF is grounded, the Microsquirt won't power up.

Yes, if VREF is grounded then the internal Polyfuse on the +5V will open (i.e. high resistance). It should not cause any damage.

But do not hook up Vref to +12V....
