Traction control with wheel encoders?

Post by bkanber »

Hey guys,

I'm new to the whole MS thing. I'd like to be able to set up launch control/traction control on the MicroSquirt using wheel encoders.. does anyone have any advice or links to documentation relating to this? I've been looking around and haven't really found anything yet, but I'm assuming it's because I'm not looking in the right places.

Thanks in advance,

Burak

Right now this feature is not in any of the available codes for the Microsquirt, so there isn't an easy way to do this. You would need to both come up with the necessary input circuitry and modify the code to add this feature.

Oof. Any suggestions as to where I should start? What's the best way to get an input to the MicroSquirt--through the CAN?

That might not be such a bad idea. There is some talk of using the GPIO board for traction control, and it (when it is available) can interface with the Microsquirt over the CANBus lines.
