The fuel pump will cycle until you set the ECU type. You do this under Fuel Set-Up \ General. Once you do that, you should be able to proceed with additional configuration steps.

hope those helping aren't getting as frustrated as us..... we've set the ecu initially before we did the injector test mode. do we have to reset it after? and i can't reset it if we don't have any communication. have you seen that before. we were getting comminication until we did a sensor calibration of the MAP sensor. don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Can you provide a bit more detail about what you're seeing?

1. If you have updated the firmware (which I believe you have) then you will have to set the ECU type again

2. I just launched Megatune and set the ECU type without my laptop even being connected to anything. Are you saying the Megatune isn't letting you burn the setting or that you can't get to the setting at all?

3. Do you have the right ini in place now?

no response port checker

Post by garrett »

looking for help. i think the communication issues i am having for one is i'm not coming up with anything in the port checker. 3 valid ports but no communication. we wanted to address the issue of microsquirt reading the right files but are not getting any communication.

it's very important that i get this working in the next two weeks therefore if there is anybody ot there who can spell the steps out step by step from start to finish on how to get this going i would really appreciate it. i'm really not good with laptops and so detailed instuction would be great.

here's the project i'm working on: 79 harley davidson sportster xl
the wiring is completley finished and now we're trying to get through this computer portion so that i can get to tuning.

thanks in advance

Im no expert...but i do have a bike running on microsquirt fuel only.
i see you are in a hurry to get it running...if you spend the next two weeks working it out and not go to work, you should be ok.
the most important thing is .....dont rush.
this electricery is from the dark side, it will come...in time.
do you have a spare pc with megatune on it ?
if so...play with it....try to change things in the ini files.
i have found the easiest way is to search for files called mega, the config ones are the ones you want. change the tacho to higher revs.
then open megatune to see your changes.
can you communicate with the microsquirt.
i never managed to get the com checker to work, i just went to the device manager, found the serial port i needed, went in to advanced and lowered the buffer settings and renamed the port
