The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

Im afraid this is the first of many post, I have power to the MS The fuel pump relay is cycling on and off the whole time power is on but I cant establish a connection! Port checher comes up with nothing comm3 no connection made, comm4 no connection made 2 valid ports found. I am running windows XP with a belkin USB to serial adapter. Please let me know if there is any additional info you might need to help me.
go to your device manager,
plug in the adapter....what type of connection is it called, modem or serial connection.
i have just managed to get one of these working on a laptop.....it took me over 3 hours to get it working though.
if you go to the megasquirt web site and search for the troubleshooting section, you will find this very helpful.
and remember...dont give in
I changed e coulple of things now under port check im getting comm4 V2.88 embedded code by B&G but now when i try to open MT I getcontroller code version does not match signiture in MS-I ini
have you set your ini file...should be version 2.8 or something like that.
have you actually tried to open the ini file and alter it in note pad, it looks like you have a connection now.
have you set the ecu type in megasquirt
OK I figured out how to set the ini file and I changed the variables to match what i have. When I connect to MS I now get Controller code version does not match signiture in I-ini but now it says V2.88 versus 2.87 and if i choose not to shut down MT it establishes a connection but when I go under fuel setting/ general I dont see ecu type.
