NO START ISSUE.....ANY HELP????

Post by garrett »

need more help. no start...... We've checked and rechecked all the wiring and read as much info as possible. Still having some issues. here they are:

1) The controller seems to start off fine with communication as long as your cranking the ignition but if left alone for a minute disconnects itself. then to get communication again we're re-cranking the ignition 3 or 4 times. Is this normal? Should it not stay connected as long as power is on even if bike is not idling?

next problem (BIG PROBLEM)
2) Cranking but not firing. We've set the constants that need to be set as far as i can tell, and have burnt them to the ecu. is there something that SPECIFICALLY SPEELs OUT what exactly needs to be set. tried following instructions but very very open-endeed.
we are having a no start issue want to make sure it's not computer.

Here's what we've test and the current problem:
Good power to injectors, good fuel pressure but can't seem to fire injectors. The injectors are good when jumped therefore they work. The problem seems to be that there is no fuel getting through the injectors. when we pull the spark plug out there's no sign of fuel ever getting near them. we've tried maxing out the pulse width and nothing seems to be working....
Again please help.....

Also one more thing how do you tell the comp. which MAP seNSOR YOU HAVE AND HOW DO I TELL WHICH SENSOR I HAVE....

ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME.

For the injectors: under Tools there is Injector Test Mode. Since that bypasses everything related to engine state and just fires injectors, it will quickly tell you whether your problem is in uS configuration of outside of uS.

Also, have you checked your fuel pressure on the rail? Are you getting spark? If you are, then have you tried running the engine with a squirt of starting fluid to verify whether you have a fuel problem.

For the MAP sensor, this is one of the parameters you need to set in the settings.ini section of the Megatune configurator.

i will try that injector test and see if that helps.....
we did check the fuel pressure and also sprayed starting fluid which fired the engine.

As for the MAP sensor this is the one we have #16009886 which we got off the hardware page. it is a GM 2 bar. The configurator doesn't show this type of part # so how do you know which option to use?

Any ideas?
