Fuel pump relay signal

Post by kvw »

When i power up the ms the fuel pump relay keeps turning off and on constantly. Instead of just running for a few seconds. The fuel pump pin 8 keeps sending a on and off negative signal. I unhooked everything possible sensors etc. Only the ms and ms relay is hooked up. Everything is grounded good, don't know where to look next. Also i haven't been able to get the ms to communicate with my laptop yet? Any help would be appreciated.

This is because you haven't set your ECU type

You need to hook up MegaTune, then go into Fuel Set-up\General and set your ECU type there (top item on the page).

Once you have set the ecu type...the pump will be fine.
search the megasquirt connection problem section, there are about 10 pages on solutions to fix connection problems. there is also a port checker test that windows has installed.it involves looping out the com port and checking for an echo.
i found the port checker in megatune didnt work. bruce did a whole section of tests and checks....you just have to find it

good luck...gary

open megatune, go offline, go to the general tab. open the file....you should be able to set the ecu type...it should be 2 for microsquirt..
this sounds like my problem.....you will get there, my laptop was no good...i ended up borrowing an old ibm thinkpad.

I guess my problem is in the config. My code versions are 2.1 2.2 2.3 etc. But 2.6 is the highest no 2.8 If the code is 2.883 you should select 2.8 if it was there? I thought i downloaded the latest Megatune 19th april o8? In the General tab in megatune theres no place to set ecu type, i was thinking that was because 2.6 version is selected not 2.8

First you need to update your Megatune ini file

Post by SQLGUY »

(rename the current Megatune-II.ini to something else and rename the Megatune-II.ini.2.8 to Megatune-II.ini) that will add the 2.8.x options to megatune.

Then you can re-run the configurator to ensure your project is set up correctly. Then Megatune should allow you to set the ECU type.
