The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
This forum is for discussion of MicroSquirt (TM) from Bowling and Grippo. The MicroSquirt information site is at www.usEasyDocs.com

Is the MS-II set up to do this? I've not found the settings for it anywhere, just coolant based. My timing map on the truck is really close, so close in fact that as the ambient temp goes up I sometimes get a rattle, particularly pulling a boat up one particular hill. Doesn't do it in the morning, and of course doesn't do it before the engine temp has been up long enough to thoroughly warm up the engine compartment.
I guess the smart thing to do would be to build a cool air induction system for it but that's going to be complicated. If I could just retard the spark something like 1 degree for 10 degrees that the MAT increases I think that'd handle it. Is there any provision for this? Thanks

What you want is in MS-II v2.68x code which is currently near the end of beta testing and will be released as soon as a bug in the wheel decoding is fixed and tested. You could actually try it now by downloading from the beta list since I don't think you use wheel decoding. It provides a table of 6 or 10 points of MAT vs Spark retard.

Thanks Al, just what I was hoping for. I'll try to download and flash it this week sometime. Jim
