Need Advice on this VR sensor position

Post by pumaking »

Alright so I succesfully built a megasquirt and got my car running with FORD EDIS (need a lot of tuning)

So after my friend saw my success he commisioned me to do all the technical stuff like the harness and board, while he did the metal work.

My question is the way he made the bracket and sensor will it be ok. Here are pictures.

I have mine made like everyone else where the side of the sensor is parallel with the crank pulley.

HERE IS MY SETUP.

I would assume it would still work as long as the Sensor read polarity?

Both look okay to me. Are you referring to the direction of the sensor? (your flange is parallel to the face of the wheel, while his is perpendicular... this doesn't matter in the least)

Yours seems to be a little more robust? Maybe more resistent to vibration.

His looks okay too, but I would definitely worry about vibration on that one.

thanks for the awesome response, yea I was worried that the sensor only read from left to right and his was from top to bottom. I didnt think it would matter as long as everything was positioned right, just wanted to double check with you guys.
