Narrow band O2 won't go past .41 volts, 93 honda Civic runs

Post by 460stang »

I just got a 93 honda running on MSII with 2.35 code, It seems the narrow band O2 is somehow limited to .41 volts.

I seen a bit in the beta forum about this being a code bug that was fixed, but I am not in a position to run the newest beta code. Is there a fix without going to beta code.

Thanks.

By the way MS2 works well on the Stock 93 honda civic. All I changed was one jumper in the dizy to omit the stock module. Otherwise it was just a matter of adapting the computer plug. The TDC sensor was used from the stock dizy. All is stock right now, once things are tuned out an injector change and a turbo will make the swap to MS2 from the stock computer make sense.

460Stang,

Try setting the EGO to one of the WB (I set it to DIY-WB), then shut down both MT and MegaSquirt. Then fire them both up again and setting the 'calibrate AFR table' to narrow-band - be sure to press 'okay' - just because it is already highlighted doesn't mean you are done. Cycle MT and MS again, and see if it is better. This has worked for me.

Sorry, but I'm new to this. Are you talking about settings in MT, because I can't find a selection for DIY-WB, only for selecting NB, WB, none, etc. I tried what you suggested using this and it didn't make any difference.

I'm not sure if it's a MT bug or a bug in the ECU code. I was expecting pulse width to change when I vary O2, but it doesn't. This could be because I have to exceed .5V to get a change (i.e., the problem is with MT) or because it is a bug in the ECU code. Should I try a different version of code?

Thanks.

OK, I made progress. It seems that you have to go to "Tools" and use the O2 calibration tool. So now O2 reads correctly. I just don't understand why pulse width doesn't change with O2.

TPI 85 Blazer,

Is EGO feedback active? That is, is the rpm above the 'Active Above rpm', and similarly for the coolant temp (Active Above Collant Temp), and below the TPS and MAP patrameters (if you have them, some codes don't).

Also, The controller step size must be 1 or greater, and the controller authority must be greater than zero.

Finally, MegaSquirt must have been running for 30 seconds (or more) and accel enrichments cannot be active.
