I have my fuel running, now I need spark

Post by ochizon »

I have my msns-e with v26 and megatune 2.25. I am currently running fuel, and finally hammered out the kinks, and the truck runs great (toyota tacoma, 1996, with a 2rz 2.4liter engine).

I would now like to jump over to spark control with the MS, but I am really dumb with ignition, so I was hoping you guys could help.

I have a single coil distributor, with an external 5 pin bosch igniter. I have a tach signal going into the MS from the igniter, and am pretty sure that all I need now it to connect the ign out from the MS to my IGF wire into the iginter (the tach sig from the igniter gives one signal per ignition event).

What I am not getting, even though I read the megamanual, is how to setup the timing. I know I need to wire it up, and use a timing light, but my understanding of this part ends there :? .

Could someone help me out please?

ochizon,

Since you are running MSnS-E, make sure you read the MSnS-E site, and not the MS-II site. These have very different setups, which can be confusing. For MSnS-E, the site is here: http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/select.html
