So i can just install the hei-7 and don't have to put the msd box in right?masterchopchop wrote:The reason for using the hei-7 is for a couple of reasons. Mainly it is for the ac-dc converter in the unit for the vr sensor signal. Secondly, hei-7 modules came installed in many gm distributors from the factory, so it just makes the wiring easier since some of it is already done.

Im getting a MS II 3.0 and just want to verify thismasterchopchop wrote:You don't have to use the msd unit at all. The reason you might want to use it though is that it could help with tuning the engine (especially at idle) because of the multiple sparks along with all the other benefits of a high power ignition. Which version board are you using? The reason I'm using the hei module is because I have a 2.2 board. I believe that the 3.0 board has a vr conditioner built in and so it doesn't need an hei module.
