Voltage creep

Post by S.Bretz »

just making a post to log/document my adventure this afternoon/night. Hope it can help someone it the future. I tryed a search for this problem to get answers before I put the MS2 under the ka-nife.

I was having a problem with voltage creep. I powerd the MS on and the (v) on the megaview slowly started to rise. Also noticed that he wideband read out was slightly higher then what it acualy was (ha, the narrow band pwned the wideband). I though the voltage regulator was bad..after all it was getting pretty hot.

I swapped the regulator out and the problem was still there. I look at the diodes and noticed a 24v zener gimmick. I swapped that out and still no fixy. So while I had the until plugged in, I accidentlytouched the d19 doide (5.6v zener) and that SOB was cooking. Left a burn mark on my finger. I swapped that light turd out and all is good....good thing I have an extra MS2 board around to swap parts off of.
