how do you set a constant dwell in megatune?

how do you set a constant dwell in megatune?

hi,

im trying to set a dwell for 2.6 ms, but everything i try and change on the dwell settings page doesnt make it move at all. right now my dwell is set to around 1.3 ms. what settings am i supposed to change in megatune to achieve a higher dwell?

87_7MGTE,

You set the dwell under 'Settings/Dwell Settings' in MegaTune. The MegaTune gauge only updates if you have a rpm signal. Also note that above a certain rpm (depending on the number of cylinders, dwell and max. spark duration) the dwell will be reduced.

The dwell may also be reduced if the supply voltage is greater than 12 Volts (and increased if it is under 12 Volts), depending on the voltage compensation dwell settings.

Finally, make sure you have not selected EDIS in the coil charging scheme (if you are not using EDIS). If you have EDIS, don't use the MegaTune dwell gauge, the EDIS module sets the dwell and does not report this to MegaTune.

i didnt know that EDIS controlled the dwell (im running EDIS). what is the base dwell for EDIS modules, and am i able to change it?

Yeah, I saw in your signature right after I posted that you were running EDIS :oops:

I'm not sure what the dwell is from the EDIS module, but I bet someone else will know and inform us both.
