Sparing a surge tank and L-press pump?
After posting a topic about underhood plastic surge tanks, I was convinced by the replies not to go down that path. S now I'm still looking for a used VW to get the whole pump/tank unit and bolt it under my floor pan... Still, while looking, my fuel pump still gets starved sometimes and I'd like t minimize things. So I thought a nice setup would be to add a "T" junction between the main tank and the pump and have the return from the FPR connect there instead of to the tank. Meaning that the fuel would go through the pump the rail, the FPR and back into the pump, making for the times when sucking end of the hose is not actually in the gas.
Is this realistic or is it just a sweet dream (like: the fuel's gonna go back into the tank and not to the pump anyway, etc, etc)? THanks for yur inputs/experiences, Seb
And old volvo's are forever...
