Re: Ignition timing confusion - Help!

Well, after a 2-week excursion into msextra code and getting nowhere, I loaded the most recent B&G code and with some tweaking, we have sparks occuring in the right place.
Still no-go though. Tried everything with the cranking fuel pulse, sometimes it kind of wants to start.

Re: Ignition timing confusion - Help!

Hmmmm....
I have been having trouble with my strobe light, its not been responding well, which turned out to be low voltage on cranking.
Hooked it up to a remote battery and things look different.

The possibility of 'wrong cylinder' wiring was the first thing I looked at, but its wired correctly; both cylinders are retarded.

Single tooth trigger wheel which triggers at 8 degrees BTDC.
I think I set everything up ...

Re: Trigger setup design.

OK folks, think I've worked it out. I've positioned the trigger at the best position for cranking rpms.

Trigger setup design.

Hi all. I'm a newcomer to all this; I'm preparing a motorcycle for racing at Bonneville using a Weslake V-twin engine.
I will be using 2 vr sensors set at 50 degrees apart (the V angle) and will be running a single tooth trigger wheel.
The question is, what is the best position to set the triggering ...
