help with 3 cylinder microsquirt fuel only setup.

Post by akatitan »

Hi,
i am interested in a microsquirt conversion. i would like to convert my 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine. i would like to run a fuel only setup. (as the microsqurt cannot handle a 3 cylinder setup).
can the microsquirt be used in a fuel only setup? my engine currently runs a cdi ignition system, and i read in one of the manuals that you cannot use the coil - as the tach signal as it is to high voltage. unfortunately my cdi does not have a tach output. is there any other way i can give a tach signal to the microsqurt for a fuel only setup.

any help would be apreciated... :?

Fuel only is no problem. You may be able to split the trigger signal going to the CDI box, or use an inductive pick-up wrapped around a plug wire as long as it's not a multispark CDI box.
