Newbie : what do I need for high-impedance injectors

Post by jsteele22 »

Newbie herre...

I'm just trying to figure out which parts of the v3 board I will need to populate in order to use (4) high impedance injectors. Please tell me if the following is correct :

1) Current limit - not needed (okay I promise not to short circuit the wiring harness).

2) Active flyback clamp circuit- not needed.

3) Flyback PWM damping circuit - not needed

So, I'm thinking all I need is D17, R15, Q1 (and similar for INJ-2).

Will I gain anything performance-wise if I add (3) and use PWM, or is that strictly for low-impedance set-ups ?

TIA

jsteele22,

PWM is just for low impedance injectors, you will not gain anything using it on high impedance injectors.

In all cases you should install the active flyback circuit (step #70 in the manual). This includes R18, R33, D6, D20, Q3, and Q11. You do not need to install the PWM flyback dampping circuits (step #69).
