The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

I've got a stock 78' Datsun 280z with MS&SE running 3.0 hardware & 3.0 bar map sensor. I'm running the 83' turbo dizzy and 240sx tb. I'm running the aeromotive FPR with idle (800rpm & 38kPa) at 36psi. Stock 19 lb injectors.
The car idles great... but when I step on the go-pedal it gets up to ~2500 rpm and really sputters, coughs, backfires, etc. What could cause it? Thanks!
I FIXED IT!!! I had to set the dwell to fixed (minimal) to get the MSD to work. But now I've got another problem. Megasquirt isn't controlling the timing. Changes in trigger angle don't affect the timing at all. Any ideas?
Sounds like you are triggering off the wrong "edge" of the output signal, if you have wired it normally you need "inverted" spark output. Plus the normal dwell setting for MSD is 50% duty.
hi james i have the same problem and im using a 4 pin module and i put the 470 ohms across b and c or i have to put the 1k because i have the problem when i try to rev the car in like 2300 rpm the car dies.
