map and tone ring questions

hi i am working on converting my 86 xr600 to microsquirt. i have the msextra code loaded to the controller. working on configing the crank wheel settings. i have a 24-1 tooth wheel. the tooth #1 before tdc setting has me wondering. is that the skip tooth count? i plan on having the missing tooth 6 tooth (90 deg) before tdc.

i also aquired thease 2 map sensors. i have tried googling them but no info as of yet. both came from gm, the big one from a mid 90's s10 and the small one form a early 2k car. id like to use the small one for space savings as i dont have a loot of free room on my dirt bike. is there ay way of determining the settings to use for it? thanks for the help :RTFM:

Looks like your standard M-N wheel there; that should be no problem.

For the MAP sensor, apply power and ground to it, and see what voltage it puts out. If it's from a naturally aspirated car, it's very likely to be a 1 bar.

thank you for the reply. ill try that inputs on the sensors this weekend. how can i check to see if the sensors are reading correctly?

i know the wheel is a standard m-n conf. after email with you guys suggest that i want the missing tooth 90 deg before tdc (which equates to 6 teeth).

the question is where and what info do i put into the software to tell the CPU where its at in the stroke. im guessing it has something to do with the box i have highlighted

is the data supposed to be tooth, degress, positive or negitive?

The sensor readings are mostly a basic sanity check. For example, does the air temperature end up being relatively close to the weather report?

It's degrees BTDC.

OK thanks. So the tooth wheel isn't attached to the splined part yet, its a slip for till I get to installing on the bike then I will weld it in place.

So I have to know. Dose it measure from were the missing tooth is or start at the first tooth after the gap?

Thanks again

First after the gap.
