Tachometer issues

Hi all,
Since getting my car running, I've tried both IDM output (pin 2 on EDIS module), pin 35 (tach output on uS) and even soldered up my own module with the three diodes as shown on the EDIS page. None of these solutions has worked and I've no idea on how to troubleshoot or find out whether the fault is with the tachometer itself. Where could I start with this?

Do you have any idea what signal the tach runs off of?

I'm not sure. It's an old Jaeger unit, probably designed in the late 1960's. I'm yet to get any information from the guys on the French car forums. Is there some way to find out?

About the only way I can think of is either guesswork or scoping the signal that got fed to it in a stock configuration.

Well, I got the logic board upgraded, but still no tachometer working from the IDM.

Small picture would help, front and back (showing connections). It's probably current sensing type, and FYI, to work with electronic ignitions you'd have to convert it to voltage sensing traditionally, but I'm sure you could do it with some external electronics now.
