Installing lambda/O2 on twin exhaust

I'm planning an install on a 4-cylinder engine. Despite the cylinders being in-line, there are two manifolds that lead to the exhaust. Can I just install the O2 bung into one pipe or would I need to join them somehow? Can MS (MicroSquirt) cope with multiple O2 sensors?

span,
You can do either. Many V8s came with a single sensor in one bank back in the 1980's and it worked fine. But you can also use dual sensors, see:

Thanks, Lance. Going to need welding either way so will design something suitable

If the manifolds eventually come together to one pipe, install a heated O2 there.
