tps wiring

Hello the sled i am installing a micro squirt on is a 800r rotax engine it had a tps on the carbs for the ignition.I am doing fuel only and i was wondering if i can just tap into that tps or do i have to run one just for the ms Thanks

It depends on what you're doing with those carbs. If you dismount them and the TPS with it, then that TPS isn't much good. If you are modding the carbs to accept injectors, then yes, absolutely - that TPS will be just perfect.

Yes i took the tps off and mounted on a throttle body ,i need this tps for the stock ignition , so would i just use the signal wire to the ms and not use the 5v wire or the ground from the ms? thanks for the info .

Sorry - completely misread what you were saying. I await correction by wiser heads, but I would think there is a chance that this will affect the signal to your stock ECU. It may be minor, or it may make the sled unridable.

It's generally no problem to split a TPS signal between the MicroSquirt and stock ECU - just don't tie their VREF connections together.
