FYI about MicroSquirt V3.0 and 60-2 wheels

This is something that came up in testing the MAX9926 VR conditioner on BMW 60-2 crank trigger wheels. Some early tests with the circuit ran into trouble where it would either false trigger without RPM, or start to break up at 2,000 RPM. Eventually we managed to get it to work by putting a 4.7K resistor across the two terminals of the sensor (NOT inline like you would on earlier MegaSquirt products) and could rev it out to past 6,000 RPM without a hitch. I've also heard reports of a 10K resistor working, while we have confirmed a 1K resistor will not. Just wanted to share this for others who are using the new MicroSquirt on high tooth count trigger wheels.

Old topic, but first post for me. I am currently installing and configuring a MicroSquirt V3.0 with 60-2.
So far things are moving along well so I thought I would report in to share.
The 60-2 magnetic trigger wheel and hall sensor are from the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and Diesel (technology borrowed by VW).
The Microsquirt is liking the setup with a 1k step-up resistor (5v) to the VR1+.
With just a few degrees of crank rotation (slowly by hand) the signal was recognized by the cu and displayed on the laptop. I'll give more feedback once the engine is running and I can test with some real rpm!
Here is the project:
1835cc VW Type 1
Porsche 60-2 magnetic trigger wheel (installed/seems to be working)
Porsche Hall Effect Sensor (installed/seems to be working)
Porsche MAP/IAT Sensor (not installed, but is calibrated)
Porsche Ambient Air temp Sensor for "coolant" temp (not installed, but is calibrated)
Ducati 996 dual injector throttle bodies (TPS calibrated, working on intake manifold design now)
LC-1 Wide band O2 (Still in box but to be installed in custom fabricated 1 3/8" equal length 4-1 header)
Ignition? Undecided - I'm open to suggestions for waste spark recommendations
