MicroSquirt.com read only forum (Jan.15,2018)

Hello everyone


i'm very new to Microsquirt, having bought the unit back in sept 08 for my prject only just got round to installing it on my VW GOLF GTI MK1 , running a 2.1L 16V Engine c/w 45mm Jenvey DTH Throttle bodies.

I've loaded all the programs onto the pc and purchased the USB Adaptor from DIYAUTOTUNE

The first and major problem i am having is the laptop will not connect to the Microsquirt ECU.

The comms port is showing port 18 connected and correct speed etc, ecu powered up on 12v dc supply but still will not connect

Is this a common problem

There are issues with comm port numbers 10 and above so you need to free up a comm port with a lower number and use it.

i'm no expert on a Laptop , do i do this in the device manager ?

each of your USB ports has a number while watching in device manager change ports until you find one with a lowenough number.

Just changed the ports to Coms2 and got rid of the USB Male to female extention lead that came with the adaptor ! and brilliant its all working
