MicroSquirt.com read only forum (Jan.15,2018)

When i plug in my usb (connected to the microsquirt) to my laptop, my computer asks for the driver software for the microsquirt connection to start up. I tell it that there is no CD, and search my computer for driver software but nothing is found. This results in windows telling me that the usb device has not been installed properly.

Then, i run the port check program, and it tells me that COM3 is the one i should use. I go into megatune, into communications, and test COM3 and there is no signal to be found.

Does anyone know what to do?!!?

When you bought the dongle that converts serial to usb there should have been instructions with it that gave you a web site where you can get and install the driver software. If you don't have this, then go to the manufacturers website and look for driver downloads for your usb device. Also make sure they support your version of windows.
