ride by wire

Post by gearheadchoppers »

On this bike 4 valve harley stroker) being build we are looking for a unit that can controle the throttlevalve by wire.

google didn't bring me much, so that's why i put it up here:

is there a unit/controler system for custom use on the market?
are there easy/simple to mod units we can salvage from an other vehicle?

tnx

Wow that would be cool.

It would just have to be a stepper motor with the apropriate control board I guess?
I am putting FI on my 88 FZR1000 and the TBs I picked have a secondary butterfly totally controlled by a stepper.
I am tossing it out, do you want to mess with it?
We have a bunch of CNC machines here I can ask the Guru what kind of control you could expect out of this one?

I would think he is going to need a much larger throttle body. I've played around with the new Yamaha sportbikes that use "fly by wire" throttles
you can only start playing with the ratio's (rider to ECU) with their race Spec ECU's. Seems like it will make for an interesting project though.
