hi i am fuel injecting my yfz 450 quad and i have everything wired up and i am trying to comunication with the microsquirt but i cnat get it to work i dont know what code i should use i am only doing FI not ignition the fuel pump relay is clicking i really dont know what to do so if someone could walk me through it step by step that would help alot thanks

The instructions for the installation and initial configuration of Megatune are here: http://www.megamanual.com/megatune.htm#installprocess

Once you've installed Megatune and run the configurator, you should be able to launch Megatune. The first thing you need to do in Megatune is go to Fuel Setup\General and set your ECU type. That will stop the fuel pump on/off cycling. From there you can begin configuring Microsquirt.

well here is what i got an 0040 error code ???? i still dont know what code variant to pick for my quad? do i have to do anything with the bootload wire? i am useing a USB to serial my labtop says it is in com port 10 but when i look in the program usbview i downloaded from the mircosquirt site it does not match i am completely lost and i am not the best with computer lingo so all the stuff it says about the ini files i have no idea haha so any help is good help

It sounds like you have a communication fault.
go to the diy autotune web site and download the latest megatune. search the forums for communication errors. there is a section in megatune that has a troubleshooter area.
i tried a usb connector...it didnt work, have you got a card slot in your laptop...you can buy a serial port card.
there are tests in windows which can test your port for you...
dont worry about the code, when you get connected it will put the code at the top of megatune

i still cant find a way to talk to the microsquirt i can not get the usb to serial to work i can not find a serial card really lost help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have you got a serial card slot ?
there are two sizes, 34mm and 54mm.

well here is a new update I got a really old computer that had a serial port on it and i redownloaded all the megatune stuff and i still could not get anything to work i have know idea what i am doing worng? is there a possibility the microsquirt is faulty ???? people keep trying to tell me to select the type of ECU and i cant find where that is i know its under fuel/setting and i don’t know where that is so if someone knows anything that might help me that would be great. i am getting ready to give up on fuel injection

this sounds like me about 2 months ago.
in megatune setup which code have you selected ?

i used 2.8 i think....
open up megatune, go offline, go to general...in there somewhere you should be able to enter 2 for microsquirt.

i have nearly given up a few times...but now by bike is running, and i am tuning it.
you will sit there one day and it will all fall in to place

Use 2.886 from here: http://www.microsquirt.info/uscode.htm There are instructions at that link.

You can also get the latest (2.886) code and INI using the V2.0 downloader, which will get the code from the internet, and load the code to MicroSquirt as well as installing/activating the matching INI. There's more info here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/downl2.htm
