Hall Effect Cam Sensor

Post by geoffct »

The uS is setup for use only with a VR sensor on the cam, but allows for a hall or a VS on the crank. Is there anyway I could modify the software to pickup the crank position off from the VR2 input (pin4) and the cam off from opto1 (pin30/31). Say another dual spark option? Like a reversed dual inputs timing from one cam tooth?

I am picking up my crank "speed" with a VR 12 tooth (no missing teeth) and using a hall cam to give both crank position and cam sync. I don't know specifically of other engines using this hall/vr configuration, but I would expect there are others out there.

Thanks
Geoff

The VR cam sensor circuit should also work with Hall effect sensors with no problem.

Excellent

I wasn't quite sure about that, but I expected it would have been written into the dual spark timing guide.

Good enough,

Thanks
