I have a 2001 5.3L V8 chevy motor and I need to know if the computer system will replace the GM stock computer to run the fuel and ign systems. it is in my 79 ford mustang with the stock wiring and I would like to do away with the body control painless wants $530 for wiring and still have to get different computer andhave it flashed your system seems like abetter way to go

The Microsquirt doesn't have enough ignition outputs to drive the LSx type ignition. It looks like it should be possible to use the Megasquirt-II with the newly released Extra code for this motor, however, with the appropriate mods.
