I have almost everything settle with my ms2 v3/edis 4 install, code verison 2.1, so i thougt i will check the functions and that the car will run before i stripe up every wire nicely.

But i got no cranking rpm signal in the Megatune display??
It just flashes fast something like 283rpm then it just dont show any more signals, and that only shows after you have turn the key on and of/rebooted ms?!
I running it without a O2 sensor at this time, but its possbile to start the car without it if i have understand it right?!

Also another question is that my TPS works fine up to about 80% then it flows away to 100% and its kind of sensitive/jumpy, any sugestions?

And does anyone have a nice startup map for a 2.0i 8valve turbocharged engine?

I have no idle valve just a manual adjusting screw, so at this setting i have to disable the idle options, right?

Trying to learn all this :RTFM: 8)

EDIT:Ooops did just see i posted in the wrong part of forum, please move!

Hi, Does your car actually start and just doesn't show rpm on Megatune or just doesn't start?

If it doesn't start it sounds like a problem with either the VR sensor pickup or the transmission of that signal to the EDIS ECU and then onto the Megasquirt ECU. Check the VR sensor gap, missing tooth position and polarity of the VR sensor.

Good luck, I've just got my own EDIS6 system running so it's still fresh in my mind :)

As the EDIS can fire the plugs all on its own, test the EDIS first. Crank the motor and check for spark from the plugs. If they aren't sparking then the first check is the VR sensor polarity - try swapping the wires.
Next make absolutely certain that you have power to the EDIS module in crank as well as run mode.

If all is good here, you need to check the "PIP" signal coming from the EDIS module into the Megasquirt - an frequency meter, LED tester or old headphones and a (1k? 10k?) resistor in series can all be used to see if there is a signal getting through.

Does your Megasquirt work on the stim?

Good point about it being able to run on the EDIS on it's own. My car starts fine with the MS disconnected, it just won't rev due to the fixed advance.

thanks for fast reply,
No the car dont start at all, yes my ms works perfect with the stim

I will try swap the vr wires tonight and see if anything changes.
Also check for sparks.

How about the shielding of the vr wires, im only using a copper wire i wired around the sensor cables at this moment.?

Finally got a rpm signal, it was the + and - that needed to be switched.
+ i had to switch the ignition cables on the coil.

Also got it running for about 2 sec then dies.

See it stands 15.00 degrees ignition advance, probably i need to adjust the vr sensor, as i checked with a timing light and saw it was way out of 10 degrees btdc.

Does anyone have suggestion of cranking pulse width for a 2.0i turbo 8 valve mazda engine? :)
