hi there everyone
just fitted my megasquirt system onto my 1300cc vauxhall rall car. got it up and running in away but it don't seem to wnt to rev past 4000 4200 rpm. does anyone out there have a good starting map or a map for a 1300cc engine 8 valve. runing throttle boddies. or even a 1400cc / 1600cc engine just so i've got a better base point to use.
thankx

If you have it running you are 3/4 of the way there. Your better of fighting you way thru this ans you will learn far more. If you post a little more info like code vertion and the basic engine setup desc, we may be able to point you in the correct direction. Most important is a datalog of the motor as you drive it easy around the block.

Unless you've got a black hole in your map, then i'd suspect that you've run out of fuel - either injectors have maxed out on duty cycle, or there's a problem with either the FPR or fuel pump.

Another possibility - do you have a really wild cam which comes "on cam" at about 4000rpm? Your MAP readings could suddenly making no sense to MS due to pulsing in the inlet tract. Might be worth doing (if you haven't already) putting a restrictor in the sensor pipe (0.8mm Mig tip apparently works, as can a small inline fuel filter).

The engine spec is as follows:-
1297cc 8v with a kent cam at 290 deg power band 3000-7000 rpm, using throttle boddies set up with TPS as main input (ahalfa n). injectors are out of 1400cc engine. fuel pressure is at 40 psi constant not usung vac advance. Using ms 2 with the EDIS system using PIP and SAW input. The engine is fully run in and has been running on twin 40's and using the megajoilt system.

You really should be using a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator. This won't impact your 4000rpm issue but it is likely to make idle and cruise tuning more difficult because you will need overly short pulsedwiths.
Also because the FPR is not vacuum referenced, don't try to grab someone else's VE table.
