Does the MSII use the last saved .msq?

Hello,
Each time I save a setting in Megatune it saves a new time/date stamped .msq onto my laptop. Does the MSII simply use the last saved .msq? How would I go about telling it to use a different, older .msq to run the engine? And, finally, the next time I start it up would it use that one or again, the newest one?

thanks
Fred

Fred,

When you 'File/Save', you save ALL the settings into an MSQ file on your laptop/desktop computer.

When you 'burn to ECU' you save the values on the page you are currently looking at to the permanent flash memory of MegaSquirt. (So it will be used for fuel calculations, and also be there when you start MegaSquirt next time).

To use older settings, you 'File/Open' one of the files you saved ealier. Note that you can burn settings without saving them, meaning you can loose old settings if you have changed things since last saving them. So saving the setting once in a while (with a date stamp) is a good idea (which is why they have this format).

Saved settings are not used in any way unless you 'File/Open' them, though.

Lance.

Hmm, that's very confusing for me for some reason. So, if I file/open an old .msq file do I need to then burn it to the flash memory so the MSII will be using that data for fueling?

Absolutely.
Unless you burn the settings to flash they are only on your computer screen and are NOT stored into the Megasquirt.
