Hi all

just starting to tune my spark map any advice my fuel table is so so but im getting some pinking noise from the engine when driving

it idles at 6deg without a problem but the car does seem to be down on power which i think is the spark table

my trigger angle is 58deg and its a turbo engine so dont want to kill it

ive seen some excel spread sheets which are an estimator where are these

I have never put an NA motor past the upper 40's for timing and that's at high rpm midrange map values.

I don't know your motor, but I would suggest that if it's actually 58* then you probably want to retard it considerably for peak power as well as getting rid of the pinging.

Where did you get 58* from? Maybe you should post your spark map for us to get a better look?

My point before was that 58* is very high for any NA motor let alone a boosted one.

my trigger angle is 58degs using the vr as tach input

Sorry, I mis-read the 58* as highest spark table value, not your trigger angle.

That map looks alright for a normally boosted motor.

At what RPM and load do you seem to getting the greatest amount of ping? Does it seem to be under light loads during cruise or heavy high rpm loads?
